We hosted a tea party on behalf of GAIN charity on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day (almost too hot if I’m honest) and we had a great turn out. The lure of cake, scones and clotted cream must have been a strong one – the table was groaning under the weight of everything on offer. Our bakers had excelled themselves! Despite the number of people who came along to support us and the volume of goodie bags that went away with people, there was still lots of cake leftover at the end of the afternoon (not that I’m complaining, you understand).
We were thrilled that Caroline Morrice, the CEO of GAIN (in the centre of the picture) was able to join us, particularly as one of our guests is currently suffering from Guillain-Barre syndrome and found her conversation with Caroline very reassuring.
It was lovely for the ACES team to have Caroline there too as, although we’ve spoken and seen each other via Skype many times, we’d never actually met in person before. Hopefully Caroline enjoyed meeting us as much as we liked meeting her!
